Plantar fibromatosis, also known as Ledderhose disease, is a condition where benign, thickened nodules form in the plantar fascia—the tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot.
These growths can cause pain, discomfort, and difficulty walking. The exact cause is unknown, but it may be related to genetic factors or trauma.
While the condition can be managed with conservative treatments like orthotics, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory medications, severe cases might require surgical intervention to remove the nodules.
